Innovation and unique views of the Strait. Just like the CN Tower in Toronto

Currently, the 553-metre-tall Canadian tower is the sixth-tallest free-standing structure in the world (Figure 6) and held the title of the world’s tallest for 41 years, from 1976 to 2007. Its primary function is as a massive telecommunications transmitter, though it also serves as a lightning rod; it is the biggest tourist attraction in the city of Toronto. From the top, you can admire the entire skyline of the Canadian city, the view of Lake Ontario stretching as far as the city of Detroit, and the view to the north stretching out across the vast plain leading to Hudson Bay. At the top of the tower there is a restaurant, a piano bar and an observation deck with an outdoor terrace. One of the highlights of the observation deck is the Glass Floor: essentially, part of the floor is covered with thick glass panels that allow visitors to walk with the sensation of being suspended in mid-air at the staggering height of 347 metres. The restaurant, situated at a height of 360 metres, is also revolving and completes a full rotation around the tower’s axis every 90 minutes. At the highest point of the tower, the Skypod, situated at a height of 447 metres, on clear days you can see the great plains and, to the south, the United States of America.
